With a symbolic donation of 3,600 meat chicks on April 15, China reaffirmed its ambition: to take São Tomé and Príncipe to a new level in agricultural production. More than just a donation, the gesture represents the start of a strategic phase of cooperation aimed at technological innovation and food security in the archipelago.
"China is ready to boost São Tomé and Príncipe's agricultural development with technology, training and concrete results," said Ambassador Xu YingZheng at the Pinheira Livestock Center.
The action is part of the project to support the development of livestock farming and was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Nilton Garrido, who stressed the immediate impact of the initiative. "We are investing in national production and reducing our dependence on imported frozen chicken. This partnership is more than welcome: it's strategic," said the minister.
