The Timorese Prime Minister, Xanana Gusmão, traveled to Hunan province, in China, from April 13 to 17.

During the visit, which ends on April 17, Xanana Gusmão presented the Hunan authorities with several cooperation projects for various municipalities in East Timor, including in the areas of agriculture, livestock and fisheries. "The purpose of these visits is to identify opportunities for investment and the transfer of knowledge to East Timor," added the government.

The cooperation relationship between Timor-Leste and Hunan province has been intensifying over the last 11 years and covers the tourism, culture, education, agriculture and aquaculture sectors, mainly with Manatuto, east of Dili.
