VLI has obtained authorization to export corn to China via the Diverse Products Terminal (TPD), in the Port of Tubarão (ES). The achievement allows customers served by the company's Eastern Corridor to access the largest import market for the commodity, with shipments made from the rail system integrated between the Centro-Atlantica Railway (FCA) and the Vitoria-Minas Railway (EFVM).
TPD underwent a rigorous registration process with the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Management System, which included submitting documents such as the Good Manufacturing Practices Manual and implementing systems to monitor mycotoxins and pesticide residues. Training was also given to the terminal's employees, ensuring compliance with the standards required by the Chinese market.
VLI handles around 16.7 million tons per year by rail and 16.2 million tons in the ports of Espírito Santo, including grains, bran, fertilizers, cellulose and products from the steel industry.
