On February 10, the Mayor of Laguna, Preto Crippa, visited the Chinese multinational company Eikto, a world leader in the production of lithium batteries for industrial vehicles, with factory in Laguna. The Provost of Research and Graduate Studies and other representatives of UDESC were also present.

The meeting aimed to promote Laguna as an investment opportunity for the Chinese market and to get closer to companies in the region, bringing other multinational companies to Laguna. On the occasion, Mayor Preto Crippa received an invitation to visit the multinational's headquarters in China.

Eikto Battery Co. is recognized for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries for industrial vehicles, forklifts and energy products for heavy trucks. The unit in Laguna is dedicated exclusively to the production of lithium-ion batteries for forklifts.
