Cofco International has signed an agreement with China Mengniu Dairy and Sheng Mu Organic Dairy to supply 1.5 million tons of Brazilian soy certified as sustainable. The announcement took place on February 2, during an event at the company's export terminal in the Port of Santos (SP), reported UOL.

The supply will follow international traceability standards and will undergo external auditing to ensure that the soybeans have been deforestation-free since December 31, 2020. The assessments include criteria for biodiversity conservation, water management and respect for labor standards, aligned with the International Standard for Cofco Responsible Agriculture.

Cofco reaffirmed its goal of eliminating deforestation in its supply chains by 2025 and reducing emissions following the criteria of the SBTi (Science Based Targets Initiative).
