Onzo Yami” housing project begins construction on April 26

The first 1,000 homes of the 5,000 planned for the “Onzo Yami” housing project, in the municipality of Cacuaco, Luanda, will begin to be built on April 26.


According to Nilton Ribeiro, executive director of the Organizações Ribeirinho group, the first thousand homes will be built within a year, i.e. they will be erected by April 2025 by the construction company China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group (CTCE). This phase of the project will create more than 4,000 jobs (2,000 direct and 2,500 indirect).


The “Onzo Yami” - My House, My Home housing project is an initiative of the Ribeirinho Organizations and the Chinese company Guizhou “7ª Construção e Engenharia Angola”, as an investor.


Valued at 198 billion kwanzas (375 million dollars), the project seeks to respond to the needs of the housing market, and includes, according to the plan, in addition to the 5,000 housing units, recreation and leisure areas, schools, markets, nurseries, a Youth House, a home for the elderly, hospitals, church sites and other social facilities.
