The Lunar New Year is a remarkable event in the traditional culture of the Chinese nation. In order for foreign students to feel the festive atmosphere of this event, the Student Affairs Division of the Polytechnic University of Macau (DAE-UPM) organized an activity to commemorate the Lunar New Year. Students from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and other countries came together to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, experience the intense atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, and feel the Chinese customs and culture with a long history.

During the activity, UPM's foreign students had the opportunity to experience the culture of the Lunar New Year by writing and placing spring signs, making paper cuts by hand and braided rope decorations alluding to the Spring Festival, wishing each other a Happy Lunar New Year and creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

The Student Affairs Division of the Polytechnic University of Macau, which organized the event, said that every year it organizes a series of Chinese New Year activities with the aim of promoting this excellent component of traditional Chinese culture and conveying a positive and festive atmosphere within the school campus. By taking part in the activities, students from different countries were able to experience the culture and characteristics of Chinese festivities, deepen their knowledge of the essence of Chinese culture and contribute to building an exchange platform conducive to the coexistence of diverse cultures.
