The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) recently took part in a visit to Brazil, at the invitation of the Macau Associations of Banks, with the aim of presenting the territory's financial market and exploring cross-border cooperation opportunities. The initiative sought to reinforce Macao's role as a financial services platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.

The delegation's honorary head was Vong Sin Man, chairman of the AMCM's board of directors; the head of the delegation was Fan Yaosheng, president of the Macau Associations of Banks. The delegation visited the Central Bank of Brazil, the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Consulate-General in São Paulo.

The agenda included meetings with the Brazilian Federation of Banks, the Brazilian Association of Banks, the Brazil–China Business Council, banks and major companies. Through these contacts, the delegation learned about the local market and the needs of companies in cross-border financial services.

The institution intends to improve Macao's financial infrastructure and deepen cooperation with Brazilian supervisory authorities, banks and commercial and industrial associations. The areas of interest include sustainable finance, the bond market and financial technology.
