Belo Horizonte's Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Municipal Culture Foundation (FMC), in Brazil, are taking part in a mission of the Cena Brasil Platform, with a programme running from 14 to 22 October in Shanghai. The initiative forms part of the Brazil–China Cultural Year 2026 and brings together cultural managers, artists, programmers and curators.

The delegation includes the Municipal Secretary of Culture, Cida Falabella, and the President of the FMC, Bárbara Bof. According to the two officials, the exchange aims to strengthen relations with cultural institutions, give visibility to the city's artistic production and create partnerships.

The schedule includes the Brazil–China Performing Arts Forum, institutional activities linked to the Shanghai International Arts Festival, and Brazilian and Chinese performances. A performance by the Giramundo Puppet Theatre with the show "Alice in Wonderland" is scheduled for 21 October.

The Cena Brasil Platform promotes the internationalisation of Brazilian performing arts. The mission also foresees the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Brazil's National Foundation for the Arts (Funarte) and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, to expand bilateral cultural cooperation.

The exchange is also linked to the Network of Silk Road Arts Festivals, an international network of festivals and cultural institutions from more than 50 countries. The objective is to strengthen professional networks and create opportunities for circulation, exchange and collaboration between cultural agents of the two countries.
