The Chinese Ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, has highlighted cultural exchange as an instrument for strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries. The diplomat considered that China–Brazil ties are going through the best moment in their history.
He stressed that bilateral ties have been elevated to a Global Strategic Partnership, aimed at building a Community with a Shared Future.
The remarks were made in a video message screened at the recent closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, the final stop of the 6th Season of Chinese Film and TV Screenings in Brazil. The season toured six Brazilian cities and presented 14 productions to the public.
Zhu Qingqiao, films, series and documentaries portray aspects of everyday life and offer a window into other cultures. In his view, beyond their entertainment value, these works can bring societies closer together, foster dialogue and deepen mutual understanding.
The screenings feature in the programme of the Brazil–China Cultural Year 2026, as part of wider efforts to broaden bilateral cultural exchange. Through film and other audiovisual productions, the two countries aim to bring their peoples closer together and consolidate ties forged over recent decades.
