The Portuguese Association of Leasing, Factoring and Renting (ALF) recently received a delegation from the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) in Lisbon, accompanied by representatives of Chinese companies from the automotive, financial and technology sectors. The meeting focused on co-operation opportunities between Portugal and China.

The initiative aimed to promote the sharing of knowledge about the Portuguese and Chinese leasing, renting and automotive financing markets, while also seeking to identify investment and economic co-operation opportunities. The ALF presented Portugal’s regulatory framework and the existing conditions for developing activities and investments in these sectors.

During the meeting, ALF President Luís Augusto presented the evolution of specialised financing in Portugal and the main trends in leasing, factoring and renting. CADA Secretary-General Wei Zhou addressed China’s automotive and leasing market. The programme also included presentations on Portugal’s economic and legal framework, public incentives for internationalisation through Portugal, and regulations applicable to autonomous vehicles.

According to Luís Augusto, the transformation of mobility is bringing the automotive, financial, technology and energy sectors closer together. In this context, leasing and renting could play a significant role in integrating mobility use, financing and services. ALF considers that closer ties between these two markets could support investment, business modernisation and mobility transformation in Portugal.
