Angola’s Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Caldas Albino, participated in the 7th Forum on China-Africa Media Co-operation, held in Beijing last week. Angola’s Ambassador to China, Dalva Ringote Allen, and the President of the Board of Directors of Edições Novembro, Drumond Jaime, were part of the Angolan delegation.

Co-organised by the National Radio and Television Administration of China, the Beijing Municipal People’s Government and the African Union of Broadcasting, the forum brought together Chinese and African representatives to discuss new ways of co-operation in the audiovisual sector. Technological training and the specialisation of media professionals were among Angola’s priorities, with an emphasis on the sharing of experiences and the application of artificial intelligence to radio, television and multimedia content.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Nuno Caldas Albino met with Gui Bendong, an official from the National Radio and Television Administration of China. Both sides expressed interest in deepening bilateral co-operation. According to the information released, the contacts are expected to be formalised in the near future, with a focus on staff training, specialisation in new technologies and the use of artificial intelligence in the media sector.
