According to the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Chinese and South Korean governments signed an agreement to support the joint exploration of natural gas in the Rovuma basin, Cabo Delgado province, in northern Mozambique.

On August 29, a new series of four webinars on infectious diseases was started by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), a Brazilian research and development institution in biological sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Brazilian logistics company Santos Brasil purchased two state-of-the-art container cranes and two empty container handlers. This equipment totals R$130 million and is part of the second phase of the project to expand and modernize Tecon Santos. The Chinese brand Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC Motors) launched its first 100% electric medium-duty truck on the 24th of August. The new E-JT offers up to 250 km of range, 8.6 tonnes of payload and a total gross weight of 12.5 tonnes.

The Brazilian mining company Vale received two battery-powered 72-tonne off-highway trucks made by a Chinese company, which will be tested in the mines of Água Limpa, in Minas Gerais, and Sorowako, in Indonesia. The trucks represent another step in the electrification of Vale, which announced the net zero carbon emissions goal by 2050.
