On the 15th of December, the Fujian General Chamber of Commerce in Angola delivered Christmas gifts to children in one of the largest orphanages in Luanda, the capital of Angola. The donation also attracted the participation of Portuguese and local companies.

On the 14th of December, the Xinhua News Agency’s Rio de Janeiro branch held the Xinhua News Agency’s Silk Road Belt information promotion event in São Paulo. At the event, the Rio de Janeiro branch signed news cooperation agreements with Other Words and the Brazil China Agency.

Mota-Engil announced on the 12th of December that it had signed a mining contract in Ivory Coast in the amount of US$600 million (about 569 million euros). Mota-Engil’s shareholder is China Communications Construction Company Limited.

China imported 52,464 million tons of soybeans from Brazil from January to November 2022. According to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), a department of the Ministry of Economy, the volume is 13% lower than the 60,476 million tonnes in 2021. Father of modern Chinese literature, Lu Xun (1881-1936) is a little known author in Brazil. Recently, the publisher Aboio, in partnership with BiYiNiao do Livro, is making “Wild Grass” available in bilingual edition. It is translated by Brazilian Calebe Guerra, a PhD student in Classical Chinese Literature at Wuhan University.

Brazil imported 15.7 GW of photovoltaic modules from China between January and October, estimates a survey by PV Infolink, the photovoltaic solar energy branch of consultancy InfoLink Consulting. The country is the second largest buyer of Chinese solar energy equipment, behind only the European market.

The Federal University of Goiás (UFG) inaugurated the Confucius Institute for Chinese Medicine. During the ceremony, which was held on December 8th, there was the symbolic unveiling of the plaque of the institution and cultural performances with music and Tai Chi Chuan.
