Six Portuguese organizations in Macau and Hong Kong have launched a fundraising campaign to support victims of storms in Portugal.

On 17 February, the Mozambican government welcomed China's decision to grant total tariff exemption on products imported from the 53 African countries that maintain diplomatic relations with China, noting that the measure is a new opportunity to further expand exports to the Chinese market.

Recife Carnival incorporated elements of Chinese New Year into the parade held on 16 February in the historic centre of the Pernambuco capital. The coincidence of dates between the two celebrations motivated local blocos to include references to Chinese culture in the programme. The initiative took place in the context of the ‘China-Brazil Cultural Year’ and reinforced the exchange agenda between the two countries.

The director of Macau's Tourism Services, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, said on February 17 that Portugal will be one of the Chinese region's priorities when it comes to attracting more foreign visitors.
