Recently, the Northeast took what authorities say is one of the most strategic steps in its history by launching the Northeast Artificial Intelligence Center (CIAN) during the General Assembly of the Northeast Consortium in Teresina (PI).

The initiative marks the beginning of an unprecedented partnership between Northeast Brazil and China, through the technology giant Huawei, consolidating the region as a protagonist in Brazil's digital transformation and reinforcing its presence in Brazil-China technological cooperation agreements.

According to the proponents, CIAN functions as an advanced virtual ecosystem, bringing together the operational capacity of the Northeast Consortium and Dataprev with Huawei's global expertise. The initiative provides for technology transfer, co-development, and direct integration with intelligence centers at federal universities in the region—UFC, UFRN, UFPB, UFPI, and IFCE—transforming academic knowledge into cutting-edge solutions for public services.
