Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$102.031 billion in the period from January to June 2025. It represented a 9.30 percent decrease year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$59.916 billion to China in the first six month of 2025 – a decrease of 15.24 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$42.116 billion in the same period, an increase of 0.76 percent year-on-year.
The total value of merchandise traded in June between the parties topped US$19.915 billion, a decrease of 1.35 percent from the prior-year period. The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$12.376 billion, down 0.27 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$7.539 billion in June, a decrease of 3.07 percent compared with the previous year.
