Recently, the Brazilian Federation of Pharmacy Associative Networks (Febrafar) organized an International Technical Trip (VTI) to China, bringing together leaders from the Brazilian pharmaceutical sector to explore local retail innovations and trends.
In China, physical pharmacies operate in perfect integration with digital platforms. Service robots, temperature sensors, smart shelves and big data are all used. In many Chinese cities, they offer check-ups, vaccinations and monitoring of chronic patients, in partnership with the government.
According to Bernardo Craveiro, one of the participants on the trip, the Chinese journey points to possible ways forward for Brazil. The adoption of digital tools can help improve access to healthcare by expanding the services provided by pharmacies, and collaboration between the public and private sectors can democratize the relative services.
