The strategic partnership between Brazil and China was strengthened on April 16 by Minister of Health Alexandre Padilha. With the aim of advancing cooperation initiatives in the areas of health and technology, Padilha received China's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, Zhu Qingqiao, and other Chinese representatives.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the two countries in implementing digital solutions in the Unified Health System (SUS), with a focus on digital transformation and innovation in the sector.

One of the main points discussed was the construction of the first digital reference hospital in Brazil, which will be built in São Paulo and will have more than 800 beds.

The project aims to integrate the most advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to optimize hospital management and improve the quality of care. Financing for the hospital is being negotiated with the New Development Bank (NDB), the BRICS bank.
