The Chinese company Envision, which specializes in renewable energy, is considering investing in Rio de Janeiro to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The governor of Rio, Cláudio Castro, met with representatives of the company in Shanghai and offered incentives for the multinational to set up in the state. Castro, who took part in the "Summit Valor Económico Brazil-China" in Shanghai, said that the aim is to "position Rio as a national energy transition hub".
According to the governor, his trip to China focused on four areas: public safety, urban mobility, health and energy transition. Castro and members of his delegation met with various Chinese authorities and companies to discuss investments and the acquisition of equipment in these areas.
"We have opened discussions about potential investments in Brazil and we are definitely strongly committed to this possibility," said Envision's head of global SAF strategy.
