The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) recently launched the Second International Seminar on Contemporary Chinese Studies, with the theme “China, Latin America, and the Caribbean in the new global order.”

The two-day program is divided into four panels on digital sovereignty, the climate crisis, cultural, academic, and scientific cooperation, as well as integration routes and regional dilemmas.

The director of planning and institutional relations at BNDES, Nelson Henrique Barbosa, said during the opening session that China's growth has been very important for Brazilian growth, and that cooperation between the two countries should move towards productive integration.

China’s ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, highlighted the importance of the China-Celac Forum, a multilateral cooperation mechanism that brings together 33 countries and serves as a platform to promote political dialogue, align development strategies, and increase investment and trade.
