On June 12, Victor Coutinho, Minister of Infrastructure, Land Management, and Housing of Cabo Verde, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao).

Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng warmly welcomed Minister Coutinho, providing a brief overview of Forum Macao and the operations of the Permanent Secretariat, as well as updates on the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Economic and Trade Cooperation from the 6th Ministerial Conference. Minister Coutinho noted that, over nearly 50 years of diplomatic relations with China, Cabo Verde has achieved significant cooperation outcomes in education and training, infrastructure development, and cultural exchanges, with substantial potential for further collaboration. The Cabo Verde government values Forum Macao and highly appreciates its pivotal role as a bridge in promoting economic and trade interactions between Portuguese-speaking countries and China. Cabo Verde participants in the infrastructure colloquium in Macao reported that the course content was rich and inspiring, and expected to positively impact their professional work. Moving forward, Cabo Verde will continue to strongly support the work of the Permanent Secretariat, hoping to further strengthen cooperation with China and Forum member countries across various sectors through Forum Macao and the Macao platform.
