On an official mission to China, Minister of Health Alexandre Padilha visited the Tiantan University Smart Hospital in Beijing. The agenda aims to contribute to the creation of Brazil's first smart public hospital.

The proposal under discussion by the Institute of Intelligent Medicine Technology (ITMI-Brazil), which will have Brazil's first smart public hospital, provides for 800 beds dedicated to adult and pediatric emergencies in the areas of neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, intensive care, and other urgent care. The facility is to be located in São Paulo and is scheduled to begin operations in late 2027.

In addition to exchanging knowledge with China, the Ministry of Health has requested financing from the BRICS Development Bank for the construction of the smart hospital. After meeting with the Bank's president, Dilma Rousseff, the minister said that he expects to receive a response from the institution by December.
