Representatives from the Science and Technology Park of the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (IFRS) were on a 20-day mission in China in three different locations: the cities of Fuzhou, Longyan, and Nanchang.

The Institute's delegation, led by the Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Lucas Coradini, participated in training at the Fujian Provincial Center for International Economic Cooperation.

The mission's objective was to establish links with Chinese institutions with a view to scientific cooperation, conducting research in areas of common interest, academic exchange opportunities for researchers and students, and technology transfer.

According to Lucas, the rapprochement between Brazil and China is strategic in the current geopolitical context: “It is our country's main trading partner. China stands out at the forefront of current technology. It is impossible to talk about science and innovation without looking at Chinese technological advances.”
