Recently, the Shanghai Smart City Development Institute, in partnership with the Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai, held a roundtable discussion focused on “AI in Urban Governance and Public Services.” Experts from both countries gathered to outline a smart, safe, and inclusive urban future.
The Deputy Consul General of Brazil in Shanghai and head of the science, technology, and innovation sector, Lucas Oliveira Barbosa Lima, gave an opening speech. He highlighted that recent visits between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Lula have brought new energy to the already close Sino-Brazilian cooperation, emphasizing that science and innovation are fundamental pillars of the bilateral relationship. Lima expressed his hope that both sides will continue to strengthen exchange and collaboration in technological innovation through forums, seminars, and visits.
This event strengthened mutual trust between Brazil and China in the field of smart cities, as well as establishing a solid foundation for connecting local companies with Brazil.
