With complex topography, confusing postal codes, and security risks, Brazilian favelas were often considered “inaccessible” by many logistics companies, becoming true “shadow zones” for logistics and hotbeds for complaints. Anjun Express' initiative in Mangueira challenges this reality. In the Mangueira community, in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the company has already established a delivery point, offering a modern service in a community with poor infrastructure.
The company also plans to establish 20 delivery and transfer points in Rio's main favelas, creating a community-based last-mile distribution network, according to Fang Ke, general manager of Anjun Express.
Advancing in the favelas, Anjun has also strengthened its main network with a 25,000-square-meter customs warehouse in Guarulhos, São Paulo. With a capacity of 1 million packages per day, the facility resolves chronic customs bottlenecks and gives the company autonomous management across the entire logistics chain, from collection to distribution, strengthening its “last mile” operations.
