Recently, Brazil's National Council for the Federal Network of Vocational, Scientific and Technological Education Institutions (Conif) and the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) signed a partnership agreement, marking a new level of cooperation between the two countries in the area of professional and technical education. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed during the BRICS Vocational and Technological Education Seminar at the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC).
The agreement aims to strengthen vocational education through student and staff exchanges, sharing information and best practices, and encouraging active participation in the initiatives of the BRICS Alliance for Cooperation in EFA.
“It is another opportunity for teachers, technical staff, and students to strengthen the Federal Network. It is a tremendous opportunity for the 38 Federal Institutes, the two Cefets, and Colégio Pedro II to strengthen their relations with an important partner for Brazil. Internationalization actions such as this will certainly bring positive gains for our institutions in research, extension, and also in teaching,” said José Arnóbio, vice president of Institutional Relations at Conif.
