BYD reached a new milestone in the Brazilian market by taking second place in retail car sales in April 2025, according to data released by Fenabrave. In this snapshot, which considers direct sales to end consumers — excluding fleet owners and rental companies — the Chinese brand was second only to Volkswagen and surpassed traditional manufacturers such as Fiat, GM, and Toyota.
In total, BYD registered 8,485 units in April (8,345 cars + 140 light commercial vehicles). With this performance, the Chinese brand ranked ninth in the overall sales ranking (cars + light commercial vehicles), standing out in the retail registration segment, where it achieved second place in cars sold directly to consumers.
Among the brand's best-selling models for the month, the BYD Song line stood out with 3,140 units. Next came the Dolphin Mini (2,175 units), the BYD King (1,599), and the Dolphin (973).
