Brazilian President Lula and Chinese Foreign Minister discuss expanding cooperation in key areas

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on April 30. At the meeting, both reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in strategic areas, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

 

The Brazilian leader stressed that relations between Brazil and China are based on solid mutual trust, serving as an example of successful South-South cooperation. He also emphasized the importance of deepening trade and economic ties, as well as expanding partnership in the financial, energy, and high-tech sectors.

 

Chinese Minister Wang Yi said that China is ready to implement the agreements signed between the leaders and strengthen its strategic partnership with Brazil. According to him, Beijing also intends to intensify cooperation within the BRICS framework and with other countries in the Global South, defending the principles of multilateralism.
