Recently, a delegation led by Marcus Im, Rector of the Macao Polytechnic University (UPM), visited Portugal, during which cooperation agreements were signed with the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) and the University of Lisbon (ULisboa).
In the field of scientific and technological cooperation, the Rector of UPM, Marcus Im, and the Vice-Rector of the Portuguese Catholic University, Nelson Ribeiro, signed an agreement to establish a new laboratory that will focus on innovative research in applied linguistics, phonetics, health sciences, and neuroscience, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration between the two institutions.
In the field of training qualified staff, the Deputy Director of the Faculty of Languages and Translation at UPM, Joaquim Carvalho, and the Director of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lisbon, Hermenegildo Fernandes, signed a student exchange agreement in the presence of Marcus Im. The Rector of UPM highlighted that Macao, as a bridge for cooperation between China and Portugal, has actively promoted the training of bilingual professionals in Chinese and Portuguese, and that this collaboration will deepen exchanges between teachers and students from both universities, creating conditions for the training of talent with an international vision.
