Lula meets with XCMG Group president and discusses Chinese investments in Brazil

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recently welcomed Yang Dongsheng, president of XCMG Group, and his delegation to the Planalto Palace. The meeting focused on the participation of Chinese companies in the development of infrastructure, the digital economy, and the green transition in the country.


The president highlighted XCMG's more than ten years of operations in Brazil and the results achieved, including industrial modernization, emission reduction, and advances in digital transformation. Lula cited the management of Banco XCMG do Brasil and expressed interest in the creation of a research institute for the company in the country, the expansion of investments, and the strengthening of economic and cultural relations between Brazil and China.


Yang Dongsheng presented XCMG's trajectory in Brazil, from exports and the construction of local factories to the current phase of “smart, digital, and connected transformation.” The executive emphasized XCMG's commitment to training young local talent and strengthening regional operations, consolidating Brazil as a strategic center to serve the main countries in South America and build a long-term sustainable development model
