The China-assisted Africa Bridge project was launched in the KaMavota district of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, with the aim of supporting agricultural poverty reduction and sustainable development in the southern African country through educational assistance, infrastructure improvement, and agricultural cooperation.
The project will invite agricultural experts from Shandong to work with Mozambican counterparts to improve the technical capacity of local farmers and strengthen food security. Wu Jinjia, acting chargé d'affaires at the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique, said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with Mozambique, actively promoting connectivity between the civil and social resources of both countries to support Mozambique's agricultural modernization.
Jabula Zibia, director of agriculture at Mozambique's Ministry of Agriculture, Environment, and Fisheries, said that China is an important agricultural partner for Mozambique, adding that the two countries have carried out multiple cooperation projects in areas such as technology transfer and food production.
