Brazil and China recently signed a pre-listing agreement to qualify sorghum exporters. The agreement was signed, according to Brazil's Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, on social media.

“China has recognized the pre-listing. Brazil will indicate all grain companies interested in selling sorghum to China,” said Fávaro. “We continue with the goal of expanding opportunities and diversifying products for export,” he added.

In early August, representatives from China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) conducted an audit of Brazilian sorghum production, including visits to farms, cooperatives, and warehouses in the states of Goiás and Minas Gerais to assess sanitary and sustainable production practices.

Brazil hopes to start trading sorghum with China later this year, after the GACC has approved the cereal exporting establishments.
