After securing representation for Foton, Nio, GAC Motor, and Firefly, the Portuguese group JAP has now become the official importer for Omoda and Jaecoo, two distinct brands from Chinese giant Chery Automobile.

For now, with a launch scheduled for “the last quarter of this year,” the Omoda 5, Omoda 7, Omoda 9, Jaecoo 5, and Jaecoo 7 models will begin to be marketed in Portugal.

“Today, a big step was taken in creating a solid foundation for our entry into the Portuguese market. We believe that the JAP group is the ideal partner for us to soon take a leading position in the Portuguese automotive sector,” said the executive vice president of Chery Automobile during the signing ceremony for the import agreement, which took place in Madrid.
