The Consulate General, in partnership with the Brazil Center, held the Brazil-China Press Roundtable as part of a dialog mechanism with Chinese and Brazilian press outlets, initiated on the occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary of Sino-Brazilian Relations.
The initiative aims to promote dialogue between professionals from the traditional press and new media in both countries, not only to publicize institutional agendas for trade, science and technology and culture, but above all to familiarize the general public with the most burning issues between the partners.
The event was attended by editors and journalists from CCTV (China Central Television) Channel 4, as well as Brazilian media outlets Grupo Bandeirantes and “Brasil 247”. The debaters discussed, in particular, ways to intensify the promotion of knowledge and the building of mutual trust between the two countries among the general public, in order to reduce any gap between the intensity of commercial ties and that of social exchanges.
