The new Floating Production, Storage and Oil Transfer Unit (FPSO), built in China and called “Agogo”, arrived in Angola on May 16 and is due to begin operations in the second half of this year.
With a production capacity of 120,000 barrels of oil per day, the Angolan ship is equipped with carbon reduction technology, including the first pilot post-combustion carbon capture system on an FPSO, according to a press release.
According to the document, the arrival of this vessel in Angola is a fundamental part of the Agogo Integrated West Pole Project, which aims to develop the two most significant discoveries in Block 15/06, namely the Agogo and Ndungu fields. The Agogo field has estimated reserves of 450 million barrels and is projected to produce 175,000 barrels per day at peak production.
