Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao Mr Ding Tian headed a working group joining a delegation visiting Angola and Portugal from November 7 to 12. The delegation was led by the Director General of the Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Commerce Mr Sun Tong.

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) attended on November 9 the “2018 Roundtable for Economic and Trade Cooperation between Sichuan, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries”. The delegation was led by Forum Macao Deputy Secretaries-General Mr Rodrigo Brum and Mr Casimiro de Jesus Pinto.

The closing ceremony and certificate presentation ceremony of the “Seminar on Intellectual Property Protection for Participants from Portuguese-speaking Countries”, an event organised by Forum Macao’s Training Centre, in collaboration with the University of Macau, was held in the Grand Ballroom at MGM Macau on November 13.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao Mr Ding Tian and Deputy Secretary-General Mr Rodrigo Brum joined the “12th China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit”, from October 31 to November 2, to boost economic and trade cooperation between China, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

A delegation led by the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, took part in the“1st China International Import Expo” (CIIE) from November 4 to 6 in Shanghai. The aim of the event was to help firms better understand Portuguese-speaking Countries and products from those countries, as well as to strengthen communication in economic and trade matters between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Casimiro de Jesus Pinto has been appointed by the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government as Acting Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, effective from October 26, 2018.

The Closing and Certificate Award Ceremony for the “Workshop on Tourism and the MICE Industry for Portuguese-speaking Countries”, which was organised by the Forum Macao Training Centre in collaboration with the City University of Macau, was held on October 26.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Mozambique, Mr Ragendra de Sousa, visited on October 19 the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. He was accompanied by the Ambassador to Beijing of Mozambique, Ms Maria Gustava.

The new Ambassador to Beijing of São Tomé and Príncipe, Ms Isabel Maya Jesus da Graça Domingos, accompanied by the country’s Representative in Forum Macao, Mr Gualter Cruz, visited on October 19 the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. She held a meeting with Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen, and Deputy Secretary-General Mr Ding Tian.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, met on October 20 with the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Augusto Santos Silva. The meeting was also attended by the three Deputy Secretaries-General of Forum Macao, Mr Ding Tian, Mr Rodrigo Brum and Ms Glória Batalha Ung.

A delegation from the Shandong Development and Reform Commission visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao on October 19. The group was headed by the Commission’s Deputy Director of the Provincial Major Project Promotion Office, Mr Sun Laibin.
