The third meeting of Forum Macao’s “Working Group on Cooperation in Capacity Production” was held on December 11, in Beijing. The working group’s goal is to promote implementation of Forum Macao’s “Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Co-operation in Production Capacity”.

On the morning of December 13, China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce, Fu Ziying, headed a delegation from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China to pay a courtesy call to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.

The 2018 edition of the “Workshop on Teaching and Training of Bilingual Professionals for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organised by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and the University of Macau, is taking place on December 7 and 8 at the University of Macau.

A delegation led by Deputy Minister for Health of the Republic of Mozambique, João Leopoldo da Costa, visited on December 6 the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao. The group met with Deputy Secretaries-General Ding Tian and Casimiro de Jesus Pinto.

A Delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao visiting Timor-Leste, met on December 4 the Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste, Arcanjo da Silva.

A Forum Macao delegation headed by Secretary-General Xu Yingzhen visited on December 3 the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Taur Matan Ruak. Mr Ruak welcomed the group to the Government Palace, discussing with the guests the country’s economic situation and the Government’s plans and outlook.

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, led by Secretary-General Xu Yingzhen, visited Timor-Leste from November 30 to December 6. The group met with government representatives overseeing affairs related with the work of Forum Macao, and also paid visits to bodies related to trade investment promotion.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao and the University of Macau will hold a “Workshop on Teaching and Training of Bilingual Professionals for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” on December 7 and 8. The workshop’s opening ceremony will be held at the University of Macau’s Wu Yee Sun Library Auditorium (E2-G012) on December 7 at 9:30am.

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) visited Guangdong Province between November 29 and 30 to take part in the “Dynamic Macao Week” activities in Zhaoqing Prefecture. The programme included setting up a “Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion”.

A delegation led by the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, took part in the “China International Green Innovative Products & Technologies Show” at the Guangzhou (Meizhou) Industrial Zone, on November 23 in Meizhou, Guangdong.

A delegation led by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr Ding Tian, visited São Tomé and Príncipe from November 13 to 15. It was the first visit of a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat to the country since March 2017, when São Tomé and Príncipe officially became a member of Forum Macao.
