The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao, announces that a new representative to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao from São Tomé and Príncipe – Mr Gika Makeba da Graça Simão (pictured) – took up office in March.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Ms Xu Yingzhen, led a delegation on a visit to ChongWa (Macao) Financial Asset Exchange Co Ltd (MOX) on March 6.

A delegation led by Vice-Chairman of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr Qian Guoyu, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao on February 28 and was received by Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen and other members of the Secretariat.

A delegation led by Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao SAR Ms Shen Beili visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao on the afternoon of March 1.

On February 25, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) held a Spring Festival Reception at the Grand Hyatt Beijing Hotel, with more than 200 guests.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, led a delegation on a visit to Beijing between February 24 and 27. The delegation met Ambassadors to China of, respectively, Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste.

On February 25, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) hosted a cocktail reception at the Grand Hyatt Beijing Hotel to mark Lunar New Year.

The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) hosted on January 29 a gathering with representatives from Macao and Mainland China media. The event took place at the Grand Emperor Hotel.

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, led by Secretary-General Xu Yingzhen, visited on January 23 the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao. The aim of the visit was to understand better the development of the industrial park and explore new avenues for cooperation.

The third meeting of Forum Macao’s “Working Group on Cooperation in Capacity Production” was held on December 11, in Beijing. The working group’s goal is to promote implementation of Forum Macao’s “Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Co-operation in Production Capacity”.

On the morning of December 13, China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce, Fu Ziying, headed a delegation from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China to pay a courtesy call to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.
