The Support Office of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao hosted on September 11 an exchange session between its Coordinator, Ms Teresa Mok, and local students. The event took place at Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes. The school’s Director, Dr Leong Iao Cheng, also took part in the activity. It was attended by more than 50 students enrolled on the Portuguese studies programme.

A delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, led by Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen, travelled to Xiamen from September 6 to 9 to attend the 4th Green Ecological Construction Forum at the 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (2019 CIFIT), and to hold a seminar on investment cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Mr Gao Yunlong, visited on the morning of September 10 the facilities of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. He was accompanied by Deputy Director-General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr Yao Jian.

On September 5, a delegation from Shenzhen’s Greater Bay Area Promotion Bureau, led by its Director Mr Zhiwen Cao, paid a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao). The delegation had a meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr Casimiro de Jesus Pinto.

The Chairperson of the Committee for Constitutional Affairs and Justice of Timor-Leste’s National Parliament, Ms Carmelita Caetano Moniz, visited on September 2 the facilities of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. She was accompanied by the Ambassador to China of Timor-Leste, Mr Bendito dos Santos Freitas.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, in cooperation with Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), organised a Summer Training Course for students from Portuguese-speaking Countries. It was aimed at promoting the implementation of measures announced during the 5th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao, namely in relation to setting up continuing education programmes for people from Portuguese-speaking Countries

A delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) visited Mozambique from July 12 to 14. There the delegation met with: the Director for Asia and Oceania at Mozambique’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr António Inácio Júnior

A delegation led by Mr Ding Tian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, visited São Tomé and Príncipe from July 8 to 11 to take part in the “Entrepreneurs Meeting for Commercial and Economic Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries – 2019″.

A delegation headed by Mr Ding Tian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, visited Angola on July 5 and 6.

The “Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portugal – Presentation session in Lisbon by provinces and companies from China”, was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 3. A seminar on food-safety inspections in China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, jointly organised by the Food Security and Economic Activities Inspection Forum of CPLP (FISAAE-CPLP) and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), took place on July 1 in the Lotus Room of the World Trade Center Macau.

In a bid to enhance economic and trade cooperation involving China, Africa and Portuguese-speaking Countries, a delegation led by Mr Ding Tian and Mr Rodrigo Brum, Deputy Secretaries-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) visited Changsha, in Hunan Province, from June 26 to 29 in order to take part in the “1stChina-Africa Economic and Trade Expo”.
