The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Ms Xu Yingzhen, led a delegation on December 6 to 9 to accompany the Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Mr Wang Bingnan, on his visit Brazil.

Representatives from the Portuguese-speaking Countries to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao attended – at the invitation of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR – a reception celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR.

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao took part in the “Macao Dynamic Week” activity in Changzhou, Jiangsu, from 21 to 23 November. The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao set up a Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion – on a temporary basis – as part of the initiative. The Pavilion aimed to boost economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Jiangsu, Macao and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.

The 11th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, organised by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), was successfully held in October. More than 13,500 visitors were attracted to the series of activities arranged for the event.

The opening ceremony of the “Tropical Timber Investment and Trade Colloquium between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and Cooperation on Global Green Supply Chain for Forest Products” was held on November 18 in the Lotus Room of the World Trade Center Macau.

The closing and certificate award ceremony of the Seminar on Investment Cooperation for Participants from Portuguese-speaking Countries was held at the World Trade Center Macau’s Lotus Room on 25 October. The seminar was organised by the Training Centre of Forum Macao, and co-organised by the University of Macau.

AICEP Portugal Global – Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP) executive board member Mr António Silva visited on October 18 the facilities of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen welcomed Mr Silva and an AICEP delegation.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, received on October 18 a delegation composed of representatives from the Angolan National Diamond Trading Co (Sodiam) and from the Macao Diamond and Gem Exchange.

A delegation led by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy of Cabo Verde, Mr Alexandre Monteiro, visited on October 18 the facilities of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, and met with Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen.
