A promotion and cooperation agreement signing ceremony involving the Charlestrong Coffee brand was held at the Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Food Products Exhibition Centre on August 24, 2020. The Secretary-General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr Wang Xindong, attended the event.

The 11th session of the series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, titled “Cooperation in Culture Against Covid-19”, will take place on August 25 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The session will discuss, among other topics: exchanges and cooperation in football, music and culture; and international cooperation opportunities in sports and Samba dance.

The tenth session of the series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, titled “Cooperation Against Covid-19 Using Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine”, will take place on August 18 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

The ninth session of the series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, titled “Cooperation Against Covid-19 in the E-commerce and Logistics Sectors”, will be held on August 11 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The session will discuss, among other topics: cross-border e-commerce; airport bonded zones; cooperation in the logistics and freight sector;

A second series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 was held successfully thanks to a number of bodies, including: China’s Embassy in Brazil; China’s Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro; the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government; and the State Government of Minas Gerais, in Brazil.

The eighth session of the Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, with the theme “Cooperation Against Covid-19 Using Technology”, will take place on August 4 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

The Consul-General of the Republic of Angola in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr Eduardo Velasco Galiano, will also from July take on the role as the representative from Angola to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao.

The seventh session of the Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, with the theme “Cooperation Against Covid-19 Using Traditional Medicine”, will take place on July 28 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

The sixth session of the series “Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19” was successfully held on July 21. Titled “Financial cooperation to fight against Covid-19”, it featured experts from a number of fields, including: Mr Vong Lap Fong, Member of the Board of Directors of the Monetary Authority of Macao; and Mr Cai Chunyan, Deputy General Manager of the Bank of China Macau Branch.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao has been actively encouraging students from Macao, Mainland China, and from the Portuguese-speaking Countries respectively, to take part in its activities, including opportunities to act in volunteer roles.

The sixth session of the Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 will be held on July 21, at 8pm Beijing time (9am Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, time). The fifth session of the Webinars took place on July 14.

A forum on “Machine Translation, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Cities in the Era of Big Data” was held online this morning. The event, organised by Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), looked into the application of cutting-edge technology to promote automated translation, artificial intelligence, and smart cities. New scientific research studies related to these fields were also presented at the forum.
