A second series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 was held successfully thanks to a number of bodies, including: China’s Embassy in Brazil; China’s Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro; the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government; and the State Government of Minas Gerais, in Brazil.

The eighth session of the Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, with the theme “Cooperation Against Covid-19 Using Technology”, will take place on August 4 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

The Consul-General of the Republic of Angola in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr Eduardo Velasco Galiano, will also from July take on the role as the representative from Angola to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao.

The seventh session of the Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, with the theme “Cooperation Against Covid-19 Using Traditional Medicine”, will take place on July 28 at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

The sixth session of the series “Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19” was successfully held on July 21. Titled “Financial cooperation to fight against Covid-19”, it featured experts from a number of fields, including: Mr Vong Lap Fong, Member of the Board of Directors of the Monetary Authority of Macao; and Mr Cai Chunyan, Deputy General Manager of the Bank of China Macau Branch.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao has been actively encouraging students from Macao, Mainland China, and from the Portuguese-speaking Countries respectively, to take part in its activities, including opportunities to act in volunteer roles.

The sixth session of the Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 will be held on July 21, at 8pm Beijing time (9am Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, time). The fifth session of the Webinars took place on July 14.

A forum on “Machine Translation, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Cities in the Era of Big Data” was held online this morning. The event, organised by Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), looked into the application of cutting-edge technology to promote automated translation, artificial intelligence, and smart cities. New scientific research studies related to these fields were also presented at the forum.

A second series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 is due to start today, aiming to promote international cooperation in the fight against the novel coronavirus responsible for the Covid-19 disease. A total of four sessions is planned for the second series. They will take place respectively on July 14, 21 and 28, and on August 4.

The first series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19, co-organised by China’s Embassy in Brazil, China’s Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro, the Beijing Municipal Government and the Government of the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil, was held successfully.

An Online Presentation Session on Infrastructure Projects in Brazil was held on July 8, at 8pm Beijing time. The session was organised by the China International Contractors Association, China’s Embassy in Brazil, and Brazil’s Ministry of Infrastructure; with the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao as one of the supporting entities.

The last session in the series of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 will be held at 8pm Beijing time (9am Brazil time) on 7 July. The session is themed “China-Brazil Economic and Trade Cooperation in Fighting the Epidemic”.
