The 12th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, organised by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries (Macao), will be held using a two-pronged approach – online and offline – allowing members of the public from all over the world to experience diverse Sino-Lusophone cultures in a variety of ways.

The new official website of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Commercial Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) was launched today at www.forumchinaplp.org.mo, accessible in Chinese, Portuguese, and English.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Ms Xu Yingzhen, has completed her term in Macao, and returned to Beijing on September 13.

The fifth webinar of the online forum of China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services, titled “Cultural Trade”, will take place on September 11, at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The session will discuss, among other topics: cross-border e-commerce; cross-border logistics; digital financial services; and the investment environment between China and Brazil.

The fourth webinar of the online forum of China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services, titled “Technical Services”, will take place on September 10, at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The session will discuss, among other topics: sustainable energy development; research, development and innovation in the production of oil and gas; trade in services in the infrastructure sector.

The third webinar of the online forum of China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services, titled “Cultural Trade”, will take place on September 9, at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The session will discuss, among other topics: the development of cultural and creative industries; cooperation between China and Brazil on filmmaking and television; sports and entertainment; comics, animation and games; and catering.

The second webinar of the online forum China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services, titled “Smart City”, will take place on September 8, at 8pm Beijing time (9am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The session will discuss, among other topics: technology cooperation between China and Brazil; application of 5G technology; development of emergency communication systems; and China-Brazil cooperation regarding smart city projects.

The opening ceremony of the 1st China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services was held on September 3, at 8am (Beijing time). Among the participants in the online event were: the Chinese Ambassador to Brazil, Mr Yang Wanming; the Chinese Consul-General in Rio de Janeiro, Mr Li Yang; the Director of Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Mr Tu Zhitao;

The first webinar of the China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services, under the theme “Smart Healthcare”, will be held on September 4, at 8pm Beijing time (9am, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil time).

The first edition of the China-Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS China-Brazil) will be held from September 3 to 11. Its goals are to promote further pragmatic cooperation, and deepen economic and commercial exchanges between China and Brazil, as well as with other Portuguese-speaking Countries.

A Seminar on Strengthening Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries was held on August 31 in Macao. It was organised by the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was supported by Rui Cunha Foundation and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.

The third series, held recently, of Webinars on International Cooperation Against Covid-19 was completed successfully. It was supported by a number of entities, including: China’s Embassy in Brazil; China’s Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro; the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; the State Government of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the State Government of Bahia, Brazil; and the State Government of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
