On November 13, Dalva Maurícia Calombo Ringote Allen, Ambassador of Angola to China, led a delegation to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.
Secretary-General Ji welcomed Ambassador Allen on her first visit since taking office and briefly introduced Forum Macao’s mechanism and the Permanent Secretariat’s recent work. He also expressed appreciation for Angola’s active participation in Forum Macao’s activities and looked forward to further leveraging Macao’s role as a platform to promote all-around, mutually beneficial cooperation between mainland China, Macao, and Angola.
Ambassador Allen said that the friendship between the Chinese and Angolan peoples has a long history and that China is an important strategic partner of Angola. China has provided valuable support for Angola’s post-war reconstruction, for which Angola is grateful. Angola places great importance on Forum Macao and the Macao platform and is willing to strengthen its cooperation with them, fully supporting the work of the Permanent Secretariat. It is hoped that the Chinese mainland and Macao will provide more training opportunities for young people in Angola, enabling them to learn from China’s development experience and wisdom firsthand. She also expressed hope that China’s financial institutions would clarify the criteria for Angolan enterprises to access financing and provide more support for their development.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Allen and her delegation toured the Pavilion of China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform.
Also present were Mr. Eduardo Velasco Galiano, Consul-General of Angola in Macao; Ms. Xie Ying, Mr. Danilo Henriques, and Mr. António Lei, Deputy Secretary-Generals of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao; and Mr. Agostinho João António dos Santos, Coordinator of the Liaison Office of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.
