Deputy Secretary-General António Lei
Appointed by the Macao SAR Government, Mr. António Lei will assume the role of Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) effective July 1, 2025, succeeding former Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Casimiro de Jesus Pinto.
Mr. Lei has held positions in various government departments and public institutions, taking on leadership roles in multiple sectors. These include roles at the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (now the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute) in the Residence Application and Legal Affairs Department, the Macao Business Support Centre, and the Lusophone Markets Promotion Department, as well as Director of the Economic Development Bureau under the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. He currently serves as the Managing Director and the President of the Executive Committee of the World Trade Center Macau and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Cooperation and Development Fund. Mr. Lei is well-versed in the markets of Portuguese-speaking countries, Mainland China, and Macao, and is fluent in Chinese and Portuguese.
