On March 27, Timor-Leste’s Vice Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.
Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng welcomed Vice Prime Minister Lay’s visit and briefly introduced the implementation status of relevant meetings since the Sixth Ministerial Conference in 2024, as well as the work plans for 2025. Vice Prime Minister Lay stated that the Timor-Leste government attaches great importance to Forum Macao, will continue to vigorously promote the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Economic and Trade Cooperation (2024-2027), support the relevant work of the Permanent Secretariat, and hopes to further strengthen cooperation in various fields between Timor-Leste and mainland China and Macao through the multilateral mechanism of Forum Macao and the Macao platform.
The delegation led by the Vice Prime Minister Lay also visited the Pavilion of China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform. Accompanying the visit and meeting were Deputy Secretary-General Xie Ying, Deputy Secretary-General Danilo Afonso Henriques, Coordinator of the Executive Office Li Xiaohui, and the Representative of Timor-Leste António Ramos da Silva, among others.
