During the handover ceremony between the 25th and 26th Chinese medical teams in Mozambique, held at Maputo Central Hospital, Mozambican Health Minister Ussene Isse highlighted that the Chinese government has consistently helped the country address challenges in the field of health, making the Mozambican system more resilient in the face of major epidemics and better able to provide services to the people.
The Chinese medical teams have shown a high level of dedication during their missions in Mozambique, providing patients with high-quality and humane medical care, according to Isse. Since 1976, China has continuously sent medical teams to Mozambique. The 25th team, which arrived in the country in July 2024, has conducted a large number of consultations, surgeries, and remote consultations, in addition to providing free care to the local population and promoting the exchange and training of professionals, boosting the implementation of projects under the health cooperation mechanism between the two countries.
During the ceremony, the Mozambican Ministry of Health awarded certificates of honor to the members of the 25th Chinese medical team in recognition of their services.
