Recently, the Immigration Museum in Mooca inaugurated Silk that unites mountains and seas: from China to Brazil. The exhibition was conceived in partnership with the China National Silk Museum, located in Hangzhou.

The exhibition brings together more than 100 pieces, including artifacts, clothing, and reproductions of archaeological and historical objects that highlight the transformation of silk into a symbol of Chinese civilization. One of the highlights is 22 sets of costumes from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), testimonies to traditional Chinese culture.

The exhibition dates back to the 10th century, when the Maritime Silk Road established itself as one of the main routes for trade and cultural exchange between the East and the West, and provides an overview of sericulture from ancient craftsmanship to the present day, with new technologies.

Organized into three modules, the exhibition reconstructs the historic maritime routes that connected China to Brazil, revealing layers of cultural exchange between the two countries.
