In 2024, Brazil imported $1.5 million worth of acoustic guitars and plucked string instruments from China—an 11.8% increase compared to the previous year. Most of these products originated from Zheng'an, which exported over 2.4 million guitars to more than 40 countries in 2024 alone. This accounts for 40% of the Brazilian market, 30% of the North American market, and 20% of the European market.
Zheng'an is the world's largest and most integrated guitar manufacturing hub, hosting more than 140 specialized production and component companies. In addition to producing its own brands, the city supplies instruments to six of the world's top ten guitar brands, including Brazil's Tagima. Today, one in every seven guitars manufactured worldwide comes from Zheng'an.
Local manufacturers are increasingly focused on international exposure and actively participate in global music trade fairs. At NAMM 2023 in California, nearly 40 Zheng'an brands showcased their latest products.
