The rector of Joaquim Chissano University (UJC), João Gabriel de Barros, said that the Mozambican institution would sign a partnership with the South China University of Technology to train teachers in industrial policies. Barros was speaking on the sidelines of a forum of think tanks between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, which ran between May 29 and 31 in Macau.
Barros indicated that the public policy courses offered at that university are quite different from those in Mozambique, with a focus on industrialization and development. He explained that the partnership with the Institute of Public Policy will provide for the sending of UJC teachers to receive training in industrial policy.
On May 29, UJC also signed another memorandum of understanding with the University of Macau that expands existing cooperation in teacher training and the exchange of teachers and students.
